Who should attend this course?
This course is intended for qualified nurses who have recently gained employment within General Practice and must be available to attend all the required study days.
Level 6 relates to study at BSc and Level 7 relates to study at MSc - if you are in doubt as which level you should study at, please contact the Programme Lead or CPD Admssions for guidance.
Course aims
The course will enable nurses to gain the key knowledge and skills necessary for safe and effective nursing practice within primary care so that they can contribute effectively to the achievement of Practice targets.
Course content
The course involves learning in the University setting together with a programme of supported guided learning in Practice working under the supervision of an identified supervisor and practice assessor. It involves two modules of study:
Fundamental skills and knowledge for GPNs (15 credits) & Managing long-term conditions in primary care (15 credits)
The cost for studying at level 6 x 2 15 credit modules = £2310.00
The cost for studying at level 7 x 2 15 credit modules = £1650.00
The price quoted above is per 15 credits and relates to students assessed as UK/home self-funded for fee purposes. Prices may differ for students that are assessed as EU/Overseas.
