Description

The module aims to:

1. facilitate, encourage and inspire creativity in the demonstrable performance of the learner’s studies, at level 7 or 8.

2. provide learners with skills to effectively disseminate their studies / learning / research across a range of professional and academic fora, for example (but not limited to): writing for publication; publicly presenting at conferences, facilitating workshops, presenting at symposia; posters and on-line resources development.

PreRequisites

Completion of level 6 studies.

Assessment

Prepare a suitable professional or academic dissemination - 100% LO - 1,2,3,4 Pass mark - 50% With tutorial guidance, the student will author their own assignment and mode of dissemination. The student will prepare the work required by a chosen publisher / conference ready for submission. The student will also disseminate this work to course peers, in a conference-style presentation to class. All elements of summative assessment must be passed to pass the module. Nature of FORMATIVE assessment supporting student learning: Peer collaboration, on-line and in class, for all aspects of critique, analysis, development and review of each other’s materials and work. This will enable you to develop formats of presentation new to you, whilst simultaneously engaging in peer-to-peer review and feedback.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module a student will be able to:

1. Critically develop their academic presentation skills, enabling them to share their learning with others

2. Be creative in disseminating elements of their research or studies, as an art of performance, to an audience of professional / academic peers

3. Innovate, through creatively utilising a range of media, to disseminate their work for wider audience consideration

4. Extend boundaries of learning, knowledge or practice - challenging perceived wisdom and examining new ways of thinking and conceptualising
